Sant’Anna School will be holding a series of seminars on “New Horizons for Engineering” starting on Thursday 15 March at 5.30 pm.

New Horizons seminar series features scholars who discuss current relevant research in all fields of engineering. The seminars live stream will be available on ANSA.ITScienza e Tecnica

The New Horizons seminars invite prominent scientists to present on topics of widespread interest to the community. The seminars are organized by Professor Carlo Alberto Avizzano of Sant’Anna School TECIP Institute and open to the public.

Giovanni Benelli will lecture on “What Can We Learn from Insects” at the first seminar taking place on March 15 at 5.30 pm at Istituto Tecip, via Moruzzi 1, Pisa. Giovanni Benelli, a former student from Sant’Anna School Agriculture Dept., now a junior research fellow at the University of Pisa, will focus on recent entomological research, insect-inspired robots, and biologically-inspired design in engineering.

Senior scientist Cesare Stefanini, professor of Mechanical Engineering at the BioRobotics Institute, will present his current work in bio-inspired robotics and the development of sensors for intelligent manufacturing.
