The written exams for admission to the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies are set to begin, once again this year at the Porta Nuova teaching center in Pisa: Wednesday, August 27, at 3:00 p.m., marks the start of the first exam in the Industrial and Information Engineering competition area. The tests will resume on Monday, September 1, at 2:30 p.m. with Agriculture and Plant Biotechnology and the Social Sciences area, and will conclude on Tuesday, September 2, at 2:30 p.m. with the first written test for Medicine.

The competition also marks the return of the ‘Pisa welcomes talent’ initiative, a welcome program for candidates visiting the city of Pisa for the first time. The Sant'Anna School offers those participating in the admission tests reimbursement of travel expenses, taking into account the income brackets specified in the competition announcement. In addition, there will be a series of initiatives to make the stay in Pisa a memorable experience: candidates and those accompanying them will be offered discounts on accommodation in affiliated facilities or at the School's colleges, as well as other opportunities to learn more about Pisa's artistic treasures.

The Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies has renewed its collaboration with the municipality of Pisa and the CoopCulture cooperative to walk along the medieval city walls that surround the city center. Through vouchers that will be delivered before the entrance exams, candidates and their companions will be able to enjoy a view from above, from a privileged perspective, of the characteristic Pisan landscape. They will be able to admire not only the famous monuments of Piazza dei Miracoli, but also discover hidden corners, flower gardens, and the architectural heritage of one of Italy's oldest cities. This year, the initiative includes the participation of Palazzo Blu, which is offering free admission to the temporary exhibition Sara Colaone “Storia e storie del '900 fumetti” (History and stories of 20th-century comics) and the permanent exhibition. In addition, the Opera Primaziale Pisana offers discounts for visits to the monuments of Piazza dei Miracoli, allowing visitors to immerse themselves completely in the magical setting of an open-air museum complex that is unique in the world.

Now in its sixth edition, ‘Pisa welcomes talent’ aims to promote the capabilities of a city like Pisa, where a high quality of life is combined with a high level of education thanks to the presence of three closely linked universities: the University of Pisa, the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, and the Scuola Normale Superiore. The initiatives have been designed to make every candidate feel welcome and valued, and to help increase the number of talented students who choose Pisa and the Pisa university system to build their future.
The opportunities and benefits offered by the ‘Pisa welcomes talent’ program will continue for the entire duration of the admission competition, from Wednesday, August 27, until the end of the oral exams, scheduled for Monday, September 22.
