Prensilia, a spin-off of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa founded in 2009, operates in the field of robotics, and in particular in the Italian panorama develops and commercializes the most advanced gripping systems in the industrial, humanoid and medical robotics fields.
The round is led by RoboIT, the National Center for Technology Transfer for Robotics and Industrial Automation, created on the initiative of CDP Venture Capital Sgr and Pariter Partners, an Italian player active in tech-transfer investments in the deep tech field. Together, Pariter Partners, Pariter Robotics and CDP Venture Capital SGR are participating in the operation on behalf of the FIA Toscana Next fund, established and managed by CDP Venture Capital and underwritten by the main banking foundations in Tuscany (Fondazione CR Firenze, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca, Fondazione Caript, Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena) to maximize investments in innovative local companies.

The resources made available by the investors will support the development of Prensilia's commercial network and the design of new devices. The current global market offers new growth opportunities for advanced technologies such as Prensilia's. In this highly dynamic context, the availability of resources to build and strengthen a solid technological and commercial identity plays a key role.

I am delighted with this partnership, which allows Prensilia to make a qualitative leap and strengthen its presence on the Italian and international market" comments Francesco Clemente, company administrator.

“Prensilia is a fast-growing company that combines the development of cutting-edge robotic technologies with an important social purpose: the creation of robotic hands that can be used both for industrial automation and in the medical field,” said Claudia Pingue, Head of the Technology Transfer Fund at CDP Venture Capital. “This type of initiative is at the center of the activities of the RoboIT Center, which aims to bring to light long-term projects developed by the best of Italian research.”

“We are excited to invest in a company that has had the ability to develop cutting-edge robotic solutions in the industrial and medical fields,” said Valentina Franchini, Managing Director of Pariter Partners. “We firmly believe that advanced automation not only improves operational efficiency, but can also transform the way user support is delivered and production processes are optimized. We are ready to support the team in their commercial growth and in reaching new goals."

Prensilia was founded in 2009 by researchers from the BioRobotics Institute of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, with the aim of making the technological innovations developed in the academic environment available on the market. Over the years, Prensilia has maintained its academic connotation, focusing its activities on research and development, which is exploited both internally and made available to customers. The company's core business is the development of advanced gripping systems in the fields of automation, medicine and robotics.
