On Friday 14 November, the Institute of Mechanical Intelligence of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa will host the meeting of the European SUN XR project consortium (www.sun-xr-project.eu). The project, funded by the European Union and coordinated by the CNR - “Alessandro Faedo” Institute of Information Science and Technologies in Pisa, is dedicated to the development of advanced extended reality (XR) technologies. The Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies is a partner through the research group coordinated by Daniele Leonardis, associate professor of Mechanics applied to machines, and responsible for the development of haptic interfaces and innovative tactile devices.

During the event, at around 3 p.m., there will be a demonstration session open to the public in the Yellow and Blue classrooms of the TeCIP Institute (Via Giuseppe Moruzzi 1, Pisa), during which the main innovations of the project will be presented: XR systems, haptic technologies, body tracking and biometric monitoring solutions, which integrate the real world and virtual reality for medical and industrial applications.
