With TELE-NEURART, the world's first ever virtual paediatric network is born. This project represents a breakthrough in the field of paediatric health and aims to improve the lives of many children. Through the integration and use of technology, this network aims to open up new diagnostic and therapeutic perspectives for high-impact neurodevelopmental disorders and disabilities. These are conditions that affect between 10% and 20% of the child population, with significant consequences not only from a clinical perspective for child neuropsychiatry but also from an economic perspective for the entire population.
The project, worth over 4 million euros, financed in large part by the Ministry of Health, with contributions from the participating organisations, within the framework of the POS Trajectory 2 'eHealth, Advanced Diagnostics, Medical Devices and Mini-Invasiveness' call of the Ministry of Health, is led by the IRCCS Fondazione Stella Maris, under the coordination of Prof. Giovanni Cioni and Dr. Giuseppina Sgandurra, researcher at the University of Pisa and head of the Stella Maris Foundation's INNOVATE Laboratory. The project's partners also include the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, with the contribution of two research institutes: the Institute of BioRobotics with the research team led by Prof. Matteo Cianchetti, who will have the task of developing intelligent sensory systems for the non-invasive measurement of parameters relevant for the monitoring and functional assessment of children; and the Institute of Law, Politics and Development with the research team coordinated by Prof. Caterina Sganga, who will be responsible for defining the guidelines for data protection.
