Soft Robotics: the Mock-up of Octopus project at the Triennale Design Exhibition
The Biorobotics Institute will participate in the Ninth Edition of Triennale Design Museum, planned in Milan from April 2nd, 2016 to February 19th, 2017.
The section entitled will dedicate a space to Cecilia Laschi, with the exposure of the mock-up of the Octopus project.
The mock-up is a reproduction of Octopus robot, realized within a research project funded by the European Commission. The aim of the research project is to replicate the ability of locomotion and alteration of the octopus. The project wants to demonstrate that Soft Robotics technologies can improve the performance of robots based on traditional approaches.
The Mock-up represents one of the most significant examples of women's projects, in this case linked to scientific research.
