The training course ‘ECOFIORE – Circular Economy for Fiorentina’ has been successfully completed. The project, funded by Fondimpresa Notice No. 4/2023, was developed by Fiorentina in collaboration with the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa, with the aim of promoting greater awareness and expertise in sustainability and circular transition within the Club, with a particular focus on Viola Park.
The course, designed as part of the Club's sustainability strategy, involved numerous professionals from the Company – from the sports to the administrative and organisational sectors – in a training programme aimed at understanding the principles of environmental sustainability and the circular economy and applying them in a concrete way to the world of football, with a particular focus on the management of events, facilities and internal processes at Viola Park.
Through theoretical and practical lessons, the programme provided useful tools for interpreting environmental challenges in a strategic way, seizing the opportunities offered by sustainability as a lever for innovation and social responsibility.
‘Fiorentina strongly believes in the role that sport can play as a catalyst for positive change,’ said Alessandro Ferrari, General Manager of ACF Fiorentina. ‘This programme has allowed us to strengthen our vision and equip our staff, in all departments, with the fundamental knowledge to manage sustainability in the world of football.’
The contribution of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies
The SuM (Sustainability Management) Laboratory of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa participated as a scientific partner in the initiative, curating the course content and accompanying participants on a tailor-made journey.
‘ECOFIORE is a virtuous example of how collaboration between the academic and sporting worlds can generate concrete value, promoting new skills and contributing to sustainability objectives,’ commented Tiberio Daddi, associate professor at the Institute of Management of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna.
The project is part of a broader initiative that sees Fiorentina committed to building an integrated environmental and social sustainability strategy in line with the main national and international standards.
