Sustainable Mobility: the spin-off ABZERO among the winners of the MOST Mobility Challenge 2025

ABzero, a spin-off of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, is one of the 15 startups selected as winners of the MOST Mobility Challenge 2025, an initiative promoted by the National Center for Sustainable Mobility (MOST) – an ecosystem financed by NRRP involving 24 Italian universities, CNR and 24 companies – in collaboration with Zest, a leading firm for early-stage investments in Italy. The award ceremony took place at MAUTO in Turin on 25th June.
The challenge attracted 184 startups from across Italy, invited to propose innovative solutions for the future of mobility. Among the selected there’s ABZERO, founded by researchers of the BioRobotics Institute of the School. The company has developed the Smart Capsule: a drone-transported system designed to safely deliver blood, organs, medicines, and vaccines. The capsule monitors temperature, humidity, and other critical parameters, ensuring compliance with the cold chain and improving access to healthcare resources in emergency contexts.
Each of the 15 selected startups will receive funding of up to €200,000, for a total of €3 million, and will participate in an intensive three-month acceleration program led by Zest. The program will conclude in November in Rome with a demo day, where projects will be presented to a panel of investors, institutions, and industry stakeholders.
