On February 17, 2025, as part of a school orientation project aimed at providing students with a clear and stimulating vision of the university world, a delegation of students from the "Ugo Foscolo" high schools in Canicattì had the opportunity to visit the campus of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa.

This experience allowed the young students to immerse themselves in the academic environment of a School of Excellence and to get to know firsthand the numerous opportunities for students.

The visit was made possible thanks to the commitment and support of the ordinary students Tommaso Nencini and Pietro Pianini, who enthusiastically accompanied the students on a guided tour through the School's facilities and laboratories. The students had the opportunity to explore the campus, both the places where they study and the places where the research and teaching activities that have always characterized the excellence of the Scuola Sant'Anna take place.

Inspiration and guidance, the experience of a former student

The initiative was conceived by Dr. Ivana Barravecchia, a former student of the Liceo Foscolo, former PhD student in translational medicine at the Scuola Sant'Anna, and currently a technologist at the BioRobotics Institute. Dr. Barravecchia shared her educational and research experience with the students, testifying how a passion for STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) can open doors to brilliant careers. Her testimony inspired students to consider scientific and technological paths of study with interest, providing them with a concrete model of success and professional fulfillment.

An important educational experience with a look to the future

The visit to the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa represents an important opportunity for personal and academic growth for the students of the Ugo Foscolo high schools.

The initiative not only allowed them to get to know firsthand a reality of excellence in the Italian university landscape, but also provided important food for thought on their future course of studies. During the visit, the students were able to ask questions, interact with the tutors and receive useful advice to orient themselves in the world of university education.
