Bio

Nicolò Bergo is a Ph.D. student at The BioRobotics Institute of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and at the Department of Excellence in Robotics and AI. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2021 and his Master’s degree with honors in Bioengineering in 2023 from the University of Padua. As part of his academic journey, he also undertook an Erasmus mobility program at the Universidade de Coimbra, Portugal, further enriching his international research and educational experience. Over the years, he has developed a strong interest and expertise in the field of cardiovascular bioengineering. In 2024, he held a research fellowship jointly between the University of Padua and the University of Pisa, focusing on the development of a semi-automatic diagnostic system for posterior systolic curling.

Research

His main research topics include the design of a soft ventricular assist device for patients with heart failure and the development of algorithms for echocardiographic image analysis aimed at the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases.
