The research project investigates the legal frameworks supporting the implementation of sustainable food systems in the context of the 2023-2027 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) reform, which emphasizes sustainability in the governance of agri-food supply chains, alongside the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The research aims to align the regulation of the agri-food chain and food marketing practices with the objectives of sustainable development, enhancing the competitiveness of businesses and promoting consumer awareness.

This interdisciplinary project engages legal experts in collaboration with economists, life scientists, and key stakeholders in the agri-food sector. It seeks to deliver a comprehensive and systematic legal analysis of all aspects of food chain governance. By addressing the entire legal framework—from agricultural production to food marketing and consumer engagement—the research aims to advance sustainability across environmental, social, and economic dimensions. The project is designed to provide actionable insights for policymakers and practical solutions for industry professionals, focusing on integrated supply chain management.
