700,000 euros in total funding, 26 students from 11 countries, 4 partner institutions, and 20 research centres are the key features that distinguish the Master in Photonic Integrated Circuits, Sensors and Networks (PIXNet). This Master is jointly organized by Aston University Birmingham (UK), the TuE Technische University Eindhoven (The Netherlands), and Osaka University under the scientific supervision of Sant’Anna School.

All four partners in the PIXNet program under the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Scholarships and Erasmus+ Key Action 1 Mobility will train the students in telecommunications, photonic technologies, integrated circuits, fiber-optic communication, biomedical industry, and photonic computing. Today, 19 students have started their work with a team of researchers at the Sant'Anna School TECIP Institute - Communication, Information and Perception Technologies, under the supervision of Professor Piero Castoldi, as the PIXNet project coordinator. 7 more students are working at the UK Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies (AIPT).

This Master course, jointly delivered by the Technische University Eindhoven, Aston University and Osaka University international consortium, is designed to ensure that all students are exposed to the key topics in photonics, including metamaterials, microfabrication and nano-photonics. The PIXNet community can be reached at the Facebook  PIXnet Master degree and #pixnet.

Sant'Anna School can boast the most dedicated team of researchers at the INPHOTEC foundation, a leading research centre for advanced photonics of the TECIP Institute. The INPHOTEC foundation is pleased to announce 2019 - 2020 additional funding opportunities for international students: further information and next October 2018 call for applications are available at http://pixnet.santannapisa.it/ and https://www.facebook.com/PIXNETmaster/ .
