Abstract:

This course concisely and comprehensively covers all-important aspects of 5G optical-wireless technologies, including fundamental concepts and the state-of-the-art. The main topics are: Optical-wireless communications (OWC); radio over fiber (RoF) Systems; microwave photonics; fibre/wireless convergence for 5G front/back-hauling; analog/digital radio-over-fiber solutions for 5G communications; access control for converged hybrid optical-wireless networks; visible light communication (VLC); 5G Technologies, aspects, scenarios and trends; fundamentals of antennas and wireless systems.

Short bio:

Arismar Cerqueira S. Jr. received his Ph.D. degree from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna-Italy in 2006. He was Invited Researcher and Professor from many world-recognized universities, such as University of Oulu (2017), Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna-Italy (2015 and 2017), Danish Technical University-Denmark (2013), Max-Planck Institute-Germany (2010) and University of Bath-UK (2004, 2005 and 2007).
