Sharing a Library news, a cooperation project is born
In the middle of the lockdown, the news of the Library “Digital resources & services” was shared on Twitter by the School, leading us - following a chain of contacts - to develop an "informative" aid initiative towards the Central Library of the University of Mosul.
The Central Library Director, dr. Sayf Al Ashqar, has shown all his interest in our proposal for cooperation, which joins the others that they have received to literally try to rise from the ashes.
The library was in fact set on fire at the end of the occupation of Mosul by ISIS, and the entire bibliographic and structural heritage was destroyed.
Considering that it is an essential cultural center not only for Iraqi students and researchers, but also for the whole local community, the Central Library needs substantial help to return to being a vehicle of knowledge and scientific information.
