Bio

Sabina Nuti is a Full Professor of of Health Management at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies). She is a member of the Health Science Interdisciplinary Center and of the Management and Health Laboratory (MeS) at the Institute of Management, which she founded.

She was Rector of the Sant’Anna School for the mandate 2019–2025.

She was the scientific coordinator of the Tuscany Region’s Performance Evaluation System and of the inter-regional network until 2019.

From 2016 to 2022, she was a member of the Expert Panel on Effective Ways of Investing in Health of the European Commission.

She was member of the Board of Directors of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Italian National Institute of Health) from 2020 to 2022, and was also a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Bureau of Health Information Scientific Advisory Committee (Australian government body for measuring health performance in New South Wales).

She has been a Visiting Professor of Health Management at the University of Toronto.

Since 2023, she was appointed by the Ministry of Health as a member of the Technical Table for the study of the critical issues emerging from the implementation of the Hospital Care Regulation and the implementation of the Territorial Care Regulation.

She is a member of the scientific committee of Agenas.

She serves on the Boards of Directors of Tuscany Health Ecosystem S.c.a.r.l., Laviosa, and Toscana Aeroporti.

She is the Principal Investigator of numerous European and national projects on governance, performance evaluation, and public healthcare systems.

She is the author of numerous publications in leading international journals.

Research

Her research activity is focused on performance evaluation systems, efficiency and governance mechanism in health care. She is responsible for the Interregional performance evaluation systems for more than half of Italian Regions (http://performance.sssup.it/netval). She is responsible for European and National research projects regarding healthcare management, performance evaluation and policies, and author of various national and international publications.
