"Profondo Verde" Film Festival
The Sant’Anna School and the Cineclub Arsenale in Pisa present PROFONDO VERDE, a free film series featuring four screenings in the original language with Italian subtitles, each introduced by experts from the Institute of Plant Sciences.

In our daily lives, plants are often perceived as mere background elements, a marginal part of the landscape. This phenomenon, known as "plant blindness," unconsciously leads us to overlook the extraordinary complexity of the plant world and its essential role in ecosystems. Rediscovering the value of plants is not only an environmental necessity but also a cultural one.
To foster this awareness, Profondo Verde was created—a film series organized by the Sant’Anna School in collaboration with the Cineclub Arsenale. Taking place between March and April 2025, the event highlights the plant world through the language of cinema, a powerful medium for evoking emotions and inspiring reflection.
Each screening will be introduced by an expert from the Institute of Plant Sciences, who will guide the audience in exploring the featured plant species, offering scientific insights and fascinating facts to encourage a renewed perspective on the world of plants.
