  • Pietro Leopoldo di Lorena

    1785

    Grand Duke Pietro Leopoldo establishes the Conservatorio Sant'Anna inside a fourteenth-century Benedictine monastery dedicated to Sant'Anna, the current headquarters of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna.

    1931-1932

    The "Mussolini College for Corporate Sciences" and the "National Medical College" are founded in Pisa. Both institutions are annexed to the Scuola Normale Superiore.

    The "Antonio Pacinotti College" is established to accommodate students of the Faculty of Economics, Engineering and Agriculture.

    Italian Law 7 March 1967, n.111: institution of the Scuola Superiore di Studi Universitari e di Perfezionamento, from the fusion of the colleges of Pisa and organized in the disciplinary areas "Social Sciences" and "Applied and Experimental Sciences"

    Italian Law n.41 of 14 February 1987: Sant'Anna School of Pisa becomes part of the Italian university system as a special-order university.

    Signed the agreement with the Comune di Pisa for the transfer on free loan of the former convent of Santa Croce in Fossabanda, a very large complex and of enormous potential in which will rise, at the end of the renovation work, the new campus.
