After arriving in Italy

After your arrival in Italy, the International Relation Office will schedule and appointment in order to welcome and support you in all the procedure concerning your stay. If you are a non EU citizen you have to apply within 8 working days from your arrival either for a declaration of presence or for a stay permit depending on the length of your stay.


EU Citizens

If you are an EU citizen you are not requested to apply for a stay permit if your stay is shorter than 90 days. If your stay is longer than 90 days you must register the declaration of presence at the Municipality of Pisa, Ufficio Anagrafe (Registry Office), Piazza XX settembre 1 – Palazzo Gambacorti.

This will not imply replacing the residence in your home country.

Documents needed

  • Passport or valid ID
  • Certificate of attendance issued by the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies
  • Proof of sufficient means of subsistence (i.e., study grant, etc. – at least more than €6.085,30/yr)
  • Valid health insurance to be registered with the Ufficio Anagrafe: - Passport or valid ID - Certificate of attendance issued by the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies - Proof of sufficient means of subsistence (i.e., study grant, etc. – at least more than €6.085,30/yr) - Valid health insurance (see below)

Non EU Citizens

If you are a non EU citizen you have to apply within 8 working days from your arrival either for a declaration of presence or for a stay permit depending on the length of your stay.
