Cooperation between Italy and Gabon: course dedicated to extradition and international judicial cooperation, organised by the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies with the support of the MAECI and local counterparts

The initiative is part of the project “Rule of Law and Cooperation in Africa (2024-2025)”, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and organised by the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, in collaboration with the Ecole Nationale de la Magistrature du Gabon (ENM).
The course involved Gabonese magistrates in a training programme aimed at strengthening their skills in the field of international judicial cooperation, with a particular focus on extradition. The programme included theoretical sessions, practical activities and analysis of specific cases.
The project “Rule of Law and Cooperation in Africa (2024-2025)” is a continuation of the training and capacity-building activities aimed at the African judiciary already undertaken in the course of projects funded by the MAECI since 2018. The project includes a number of in-depth studies on specific topics with the participation of Italian and African experts and university professors with the aim of strengthening ties between Italy and African countries in the field of justice, promoting the exchange of good practices and institutional collaboration.
The course ended on 20 August with an official ceremony attended by Dr Rossi, representing H.E. the Italian Ambassador Stefano Moscatelli, confirming the support of the Farnesina and the Italian Embassy in Libreville for the success of these cooperation activities.
