Economics, political science and sociology: the Scuola Sant'Anna's "Gender & Labour Studies" research group presents its work at two international conferences
Armanda Cetrulo and Giuliana Freschi, Post-doc, and Caterina Manicardi, Ph.D student, from Scuola Sant'Anna's "Gender & Labor Studies" research group are participating in a thematic session of the two international conferences SASE and IAFFE 2024. Both events are characterized by interdisciplinarity, embracing economics, political science and sociology.
Their contribution, titled "The empirics of care: past and present," includes social reproduction theory, early historical evidence of occupational gender segregation, and the allocation of unpaid work time. The presentation provides an overview on how the notion of care is strongly embedded not only in the history of female labour participation, but in the shaping of societies overall.
