The 23rd edition of the Master's Degree Course in Human Rights & Conflict Management of the Sant'Anna School is about to start: the welcome session of one of the longest-running training programmes of the Sant'Anna School will take place on Wednesday 8 January 2025. The aim is to train a new generation of professionals in the field of human rights and conflict management, figures who are increasingly necessary in a historical period such as the current one marked by serious international tensions.
The opening ceremony will be held at 9.00 a.m. in the Aula Magna Storica. At the opening ceremony, there will a general presentation of the course by the Director of the Master Emanuele Sommario, followed by greetings from the Vice-Rector Arianna Menciassi. During the welcome session, the students – coming from 14 different countries across the world – will be involved in various ice-breaking activities until the informal lunch to celebrate the beginning of the Master Programme.
Course Description
The Master in Human Rights and Conflict Management is a 1st level Master's programme designed to provide students from different cultures and backgrounds with a deep understanding of the linkages between human rights and conflict management theory and practice. The curriculum, strongly field oriented, prepares participants for working with NGOs, governments, aid agencies, the UN system and regional organisations, also operating in the context of complex emergencies and joint operations.
