International awards: Anna Chiara Bressi, PhD student in Biorobotics, received two important awards at the 2025 MRS Spring Meeting conference, held in Seattle

Anna Chiara Bressi, PhD student in Biorobotics at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, has received two important awards at the 2025 MRS Spring Meeting conference, scheduled to take place in Seattle (USA) from April 7 to 11, 2025.
Bressi won the “MRS Best Presentation Award - Symposium SU06” for two talks that focused on Laser-Induced Graphene derived from bioderived precursors
Furthermore, Bressi won first place in the “Science as Art” competition, thanks to the creation of an innovative image that combines research and art. Specifically, an image of 'Laser-Induced Graphene' was created, similar to mountains formed on a coffee-based substrate.
Science as Art is an integral part of the prestigious Materials Research Society event, which promotes scientific excellence and collaboration between disciplines on a global level.
Bressi works in the LAMPSE research laboratory of the BioRobotics Institute, coordinated by Francesco Greco, associate professor of bioengineering. The aim of the laboratory is to study soft and deformable conductive materials for their application as sensors/actuators in biomedicine and robotics.
