The Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, through its Organizational Development and Training Unit, is currently conducting a series of ten training sessions dedicated to BLSD – Basic Life Support and Defibrillation, as part of the program “Culture in Health and Safety”, aimed at technical and administrative staff.

Approximately 200 participants, on a voluntary basis, will each take part in a single four-hour session, confirming the School’s commitment to professional development and to promoting a widespread culture of safety, prevention, and social responsibility.

The course includes both lectures and hands-on practice sessions, during which participants acquire essential skills in:

  • First aid

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

  • Early defibrillation

  • Airway obstruction removal

The subject matter is of crucial importance: knowing BLSD techniques and being able to act promptly in emergency situations can make the difference between life and death. The training goes beyond technical instruction — it fosters awareness, readiness, and a sense of responsibility, all key elements in creating safe workplaces and a more protected community.

This training initiative represents a valuable opportunity to transform technical knowledge into a concrete tool for saving lives, making each participant an active contributor to community safety.

The program also highlights the School’s commitment to recognizing technical and administrative staff not only as essential to the institution’s operations, but also as promoters of safety and solidarity within the community. Investing in BLSD training means spreading skills with a high social impact and fostering a culture of prevention, safety, and shared responsibility.
