"Un altro genere di cinema", the free-entrance film festival of the three universities of Pisa

First event on February 21 at the Arsenale cinema with Tomboy. The initiative promotes the Inter-University Service Against Gender Violence and counts on the collaboration of Laboratoria Femminismi and the Casa della Donna di Pisa

The free-entrance film festival "Un altro genere di cinema" is ready to begin. The festival is organised by theUniversity of Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore and the Sant'Anna School to promote the Inter-University Service Against Gender ViolenceThe event, in collaboration with Laboratoria Femminismi and the Casa della Donna di Pisa, takes place at the Arsenale cinema in Pisa (Vicolo scaramucci, 2) every third Tuesday of the month, from February to May. A total of four films followed by a discussion on gender identity, gender-based violence, sexual freedom, abortion and solidarity networks. It begins on February 21 at 9 p.m. with "Tomboy" (84′, France, 2002) by Céline Sciamma. The other events are March 21 with Jonathan Kaplan's "Under Charge" (U.S., 1988); April 18 with Audrey Diwan's "L'événement - Anne's Choice" (France, 2021); and May 16 with Maria Schrader's "She Said" (U.S., 2022). At the end of the screenings, representatives of the Unique Guarantee Committees of the three universities in Pisa and various associations, including Obiezione Respinta, AIED consultorio, Pinkriot, Arciragazzi, and Non Una Di Meno Pisa, will animate the debates.


The Inter-University Service Against Violence

Anonymous, free of charge and with no obligation to report, the Inter-University Service against Gender-Based Violence established on June 8 is available to those who study, research, teach and work at the three universities in Pisa. Anyone who has suffered acts of discrimination and violence based on gender or otherwise related to their sexual identity, even in places other than universities, can contact the desk.
