ITALY CHINA: researchers of sant’anna school TeCIP INSTITUTE PARTICIPATE IN THE science, technology and innovation week event presenting new INTEGRATED OPTICAL device
Researchers of Sant’Anna School Tecip (Telecommunications, Information and Perception Technologies) Institute participate in the Italy-China Science, Technology and Innovation Week event on December 4-6 in Milan, Rome, Cagliari and Naples. In Milan, the Innovation Forum will be held at the "Leonardo da Vinci" Museum of Science and Technology on December 4, 2018. Minister of Education Marco Bussetti and Wang ZhiGang, Minister of Science and Technology of the Republic of China, will welcome researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, academia and stakeholders to foster the dialogue on policies and strategies for technological transfer, digital manufacturing, training, and science popularization.
Nicola Andriolli, researcher at the TeCIP Institute, Giampiero Contestabile, professor of telecommunications, and Professor Xuelin Yang of Shanghai Jiao Tong University will participate in initiatives aimed at spreading the research output, through thematic seminars and one-to-one meetings. Andriolli and Contestabile present the CANTON project results of integrated optical devices for high-speed transmission systems.
Designed and manufactured in Europe, the CANTON device offers fiber-optic networks connectivity and optical packet switching based on turbo switch integrated components that can send data at a speed of more than 100 gigabits per second.
The Italy-China Science, Technology and Innovation Week event has been the largest ever in Europe with over 8,000 participants, since 2010. It is permanent platform for the Chinese-Italian internationalization strategy (4,900 technology transfer initiatives) and partnerships (600 cooperation agreements, a global event bringing leaders from government and business together with scientist and researchers.
Over the years, Italian and Chinese governments backed initiatives promoting new startups, networking activities, and other entrepreneur initiatives, including geopolitical and geo-economic issues.
