Bio

Tommaso Proietti is Assistant Professor (RTD-A) at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and head of the Soft NeuroBionics Lab within the Bioelectronics and Bioengineering Area.

He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Control Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome (Rome, Italy) in 2010 and 2013, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Robotics Engineering from University Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC, Sorbonne University, Paris, France) in 2017. From 2012 to 2013 he was Visiting Research Fellow at the Center for Robotics and Biosystems, Northwestern University (Evanston, IL, USA). From 2017 to 2019 he worked as Control System Engineer for General Motors. From 2019 to 2022, he was Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Harvard Biodesign Lab, Harvard University (Cambridge, MA, USA). From 2022 to 2023, he was Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Biorobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. 

His research interests include soft wearable robotics for assistance, rehabilitation, and augmentationphysical human-robot interaction, controls, and biomechanics.
