The World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated on 26 April, established and promoted in 2000 by the World Intellectural Property Organization (WIPO) with the aim of encouraging discussion on the importance of the role that intellctual property plays in encouranging innovation and creativity.

This year theme is "IP and young people: innovation for a better future"
