Our activity

SuM Lab has developed high competence in technical and socio-economic analyses, implementation of policies and regulatory instruments in the fields of sustainability management. It also develops training and awareness-raising activities in public and private contexts. Since 2006, SuM Lab has been strongly engaged in European projects with a focus on the fields of environmental sustainability and energy management. SuM Lab has coordinated 11 projects and is a partner in 30 other proposals funded through the Horizon, LIFE, Erasmus and Interrg programmes.

Our research laboratory is particularly experienced in environmental impact assessments and related socio-economic aspects (central themes of our European projects), application of industrial symbiosis principles and management of eco-industrial parks, development of new business models for the circular economy and increase of renewable energy sources.
We also deal with stakeholder engagement processes, including consumers and institutions in cooperation with the private sector, and consumer behaviour analysis.
SuM Lab has been applying LCA, LCC S-LCA and PEF methodologies for more than 15 years to compare the performance of products, services, materials and technologies.
