The Philosophy seminar series in Saint Petersburg are a lively debate and a solid collaboration between the Dirpolis Institute (Law, Politics and Development) of Sant’Anna School and the Saint Petersburg State University. The purpose is to foster cross-disciplinary research and teaching staff mobility in the framework of the Erasmus program under the coordination of Alberto Pirni, professor of Moral Philosophy at the Dirpolis Institute. The seminar series “Days of Philosophy” in Saint Petersburg aim to highlight the importance of ethics in Italy and Russia contexts and obtain regional contributions to global debates on contemporary challenges such as the influence of digital technologies on knowledge from an epistemological point of view.

The Dirpolis Institute (Law, Politics and Development) of Sant’Anna School and the Saint Petersburg State University have organized the workshop “City Space: Identity and Philosophy”. Professor Alberto Pirni participated in the event and gave his talk on “The city of limit/The limit of the city”, as a tribute to Italian philosopher Remo Bodei, who died on 7 November 2019 in Pisa.

Alberto Pirni’s second presentation on “Traditions and Prospects” at the 11th International Conference Theoretical and Applied Ethics questioned the role of hybrid ethical models in future societies. In recognizing the relevance of visionary scholars Daniel Bell, Roberto Nozick and Luciano Floridi, Alberto Pirni discussed the evolution of ethical standards in the digital age.
