Sant’Anna School is taking part in the 33rd edition of BI-MU, one of Europe’s leading trade shows dedicated to the manufacturing industry. The event focuses on metal cutting and metal forming machine tools, additive manufacturing, robotics, automation, digital manufacturing, enabling technologies, and subcontracting. It is being held at Fieramilano Rho from October 12 to 15, 2022, and serves as a key meeting point for professionals and innovators across the industrial sector.

Sant’Anna is present at stand 13-C15, located in RobotHeart—the dedicated exhibition area focused on robotics and artificial intelligence—where it is showcasing its latest research, technological developments, and academic excellence.

The highlight of Sant’Anna’s participation is scheduled for Friday, October 14, when faculty and researchers from several of the university’s institutes will contribute their expertise to the ongoing dialogue on the future of intelligent manufacturing and emerging technologies.

Representatives of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna include:

  • Andrea Baldoni, representing the Third Mission Area, which fosters collaboration between academia, industry, and civil society through knowledge and technology transfer;

  • Domenico Chiaradia and Daniele Leonardis from the Institute of Mechanical Intelligence, focused on the development of advanced automation and mechatronics systems;

  • Giacomo D’Alesio from the internationally recognized Institute of BioRobotics, known for its pioneering work in biologically inspired robotics and neuroengineering;

  • Giorgiomaria Cicero from the TECIP Institute (Telecommunication, Information and Perception Technologies), which conducts cutting-edge research in digital systems, communication technologies, and intelligent perception.

Also attending is the university’s spin-off Mediate s.r.l., a start-up dedicated to innovative solutions in augmented communication and advanced diagnostics. Representing Mediate will be Andrea Firrincieli, Marcello Chiurazzi, Marco Dal Canto, and Emiliano Cutolo, who will share their insights on the real-world applications of their technologies in the industrial and medical sectors.

Sant’Anna’s presence at BI-MU highlights its commitment to promoting technological innovation, industry-academia collaboration, and knowledge dissemination, playing an active role in driving forward the transformation of the European industrial landscape toward smarter, more sustainable, and connected production models.
