SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF WATER RESOURCES IN VAL DI CORNIA: CAMPIGLIA MARITTIMA, SUVERETO, AND PIOMBINO CITY COUNCIL AUTHORITIES DISCUSS EU PROJECT “LIFE REWAT” RESULTS WITH RESEARCHERS OF SANT’ANNA SCHOOL LIFE SCIENCES INSTITUTE

On September 10, 2020, mayors, and representatives of City Council Authorities of Campiglia MarittimaSuvereto, and Piombino participated in an online conference to discuss water resources sustainable management in the Val di Cornia area together with Sant’Anna School researchers  of the Life Sciences Institute who worked on the innovative blue infrastructures for water-related agroecosystem services as the main objective of the LIFE REWAT project.

Bringing  together leading experts and public figures such as Mayor Alberta Ticciati (Campiglia Marittima), Mayor Jessica Pasquini  (Suvereto), Mayor Francesco Ferrari (Piombino), President  Giancarlo Vallesi and coordinator Alessandro Fabbrizzi (Consorzio di Bonifica 5 Toscana Costa) and President Stefano Taddia (ASA Spa), researcher Rudy Rossetto (Sant’Anna School), Marco Masi (Tuscany Region Authority) and Mirco Brilli  as a representative of ASA Spa, the debate was informed by research results from the Life Rewat project.  

Sant’Anna School researchers are actively pursuing research and innovation on rebalancing the water budget of the hydrologic system in the Val di Cornia area and the capacity building and participatory actions in a changing climate setting.
