How to activate an internship

Traineeships are implemented under specific agreements governing the relationship between the promoting institution (Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna) and the hosting organisation (where the traineeship takes place). Traineeship agreements are drafted in accordance with current regulations. They may be stipulated for the individual traineeship or course of study, or for the entire University (framework agreement) covering all study courses organized by the School.
The School, as the promoting body, provided the trainee with insurance coverage against accidents at work with INAIL, as well as for third-party liability.
An Individual Training Project is completed for each traineeship, including specific information such as the student's personal details, duration, learning objectives, etc., as well as any additional arrangements for transfers, suspensions or extensions, and allowances required by law. The training project also requires the name of the university tutor and the company tutor, i.e., the person at the institution/company to whom the trainee refers during the traineeship experience.

There are different ways of activating an internship depending on the course of study attended:

• Honour courses and PhD courses: interested students are invited to consult the list of active agreements in the intranet section and to contact the Career Service for details on how to request or start a traineeship.
• Master's Degrees: internships are activated by the university that is the administrative headquarters (University of Pisa or University of Trento). Students are invited to contact the Master's degree course secretariat to ask whether it's possible to undertake a traineeship under an agreement stipulated by the Scuola Sant'Anna.
• University Master's degree courses: curricular traineeships are normally activated by means of agreements within the individual course. Students are invited to contact the secretariat of the Master's degree course for all relevant information.

N.B.: No traineeship may begin before both parties have signed the Traineeship agreement!
