The CLIMBers Macro Area deals with mapping and measuring environmental, economic, and social impacts to support production and consumption choices for sustainable and circular transition.
It coordinates research, development, and training activities in the following areas:

• Analysis and modeling of the life cycle of products, processes, services, systems, and organizations using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology;
• Measurement of the circularity performance of supply chains, companies, and products;
• Application and integration of the Life Cycle Thinking approach to the three perspectives of sustainability: environmental (LCA), economic (Life Cycle Costing) and social (social LCA) and trade-off management;
• Definition of innovative methods, models and tools for decision support for companies (design, business models, supply chain optimisation);
• Efficient resource management, from input reduction to waste recovery;

Application and promotion of national and international certifications, standards, and methodologies for assessing environmental footprint and circularity.
