RANKINGS 2017 OF EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES: NORMALE AND SANT’ANNA IN Times higher Education EUROPEAN TOP 100

Scuola Normale and Sant’Anna School, the two higher education institutions in Pisa, have entered the latest Times Higher Education rankings of Europe’s top 100 universities. The rankings of European universities list 400 best in Europe.

The 2017 European rankings show UK dominating the list with 3 institutions in the top 10, Oxford and Cambridge universities and Imperial College. Italy has 38 universities in the top 400; only Scuola Normale and Sant’Anna School entered the top 100. The global rankings 2017 saw Scuola Normale and Sant’Anna School placed in the top 200, judged on areas such as teaching and research.

The Times Higher Education rankings use 13 rigorous and demanding performance indicators, the same used in the overall World University Rankings. Higher education institutions must demonstrate high standards of performance across teaching, research, citations, publications, and industry income. The latest Times Higher Education rankings underline our two universities’ innovation strategy.
