INSPIRING AND CHALLENGING TALENTED YOUNG PEOPLE. SANT’ANNA SCHOOL FACULTY MEMBERS SELECTED FOR THE JUDGING PANEL OF THE INTERNATIONAL STEM AWARDS CHALLENGE. WINNERS ANNOUNCED AT TORINO DIGITAL WEEK ON MARCH 14, 2020

Young people are the main resources of nations. Youth are the future. Youth have a valuable role to play in societies. Young people are agents of change for environmental ethics and sustainable development. We need to inspire and support young people as they face the challenges that require more education and training.  Sant’Anna School sustains training efforts at the higher level of the educational system, while it is encouraging talented students to acquire the necessary skills to become active participants in a learner-centred environment.

Professor Antonio Frisoli, the coordinator of the Human-Robot Interaction studies at the TECIP Institute (for Communication, Information and Perception Technology), and researcher Daniele Leonardis strongly believe that STEM subjects are integral for the future of our country. They have been selected for the judging panel of the 2020 International STEM Awards Challenge. The International STEM Awards serves as a platform for engaging young and talented people on the STE(A)M subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering (Arts) and Maths).

To promote the innovative spirit of young people in addressing our global challenges, the STEM Awards platform gives the youth an opportunity in which they could express their voices. Projects and ideas designed and implemented by young people will contribute to offer solutions on youth issues.  

This year’s themes will focus on robotics, wearable technology, Artificial Intelligence and related topics inviting students to come up with ideas for energy efficiency, recycling, environmental sustainability, urban sustainability, sustainable architecture, food quality and sustainability … et cetera.

7-25 year-old students were eligible to apply to show the value of their STEM skills and take the opportunity for networking with other young individuals at the forefront of the digital age education. The winners of the International STEM Awards Challenge will be announced at the Digital Week event on Saturday, 14 March 2020, at the Politecnico di Milano – Bovisa. Fingers crossed!
