Bio

I am a biologist graduated (cum laude) in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Pisa in 2023. After graduation, I was awarded a one-year research scholarship at the Institute of Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology of the National Research Council (CNR) in Pisa. I am currently a PhD student in Translational Medicine at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa. My research is conducted at the Institute of Clinical Physiology of CNR, Pisa.

Ricerca

My project research focuses on the role of non-coding RNAs, particularly microRNAs and long non-coding RNAs, in diabetic kidney disease and its cardiovascular complications. I investigate their expression patterns and molecular mechanisms using highly sensitive and specific techniques, including Real-Time PCR and Droplet Digital PCR. My work involves both ex vivo approaches (patient-derived liquid biopsies) and in vitro systems (organoids), with the aim of developing disease models to support translational research.
