Abstract
In a rapidly shifting global landscape marked by rising polarization and volatility, the challenges of building sustainable peace in Africa have become increasingly complex. This conference brings together high-ranking officials and seasoned political advisors with extensive experience supporting multilateral actors in African conflict settings. Discussions will explore the evolving dynamics of peacebuilding, from the impact of global rivalries on existing peace and mediation toolboxes to the role of regional and international organizations in navigating fragmented conflict environments. Speakers will offer insights into adaptive strategies for diplomacy, security governance, and conflict management, considering the effects of external interventions and local agency.
