Learning objectives  

The seasonal school aims to offer an advanced overview of programmable networks and automation paradigms, exploring the role of Agentic AI in next-generation infrastructures. The development and application of 3D networks for immersive and industrial scenarios will be explored in depth, together with in-network machine learning techniques for performance optimization. Particular attention will be paid to the challenges of transport in next-generation mobile networks and methodologies for ensuring infrastructure security and resilience. Pervasive monitoring approaches for end-to-end control and orchestration will also be presented. The school aims to foster dialogue between academic research and industry, stimulate the development of interdisciplinary skills in students and professionals, and create a collaborative environment for the co-creation of innovative solutions.


Teaching methodologies 

The school is organised into 50% classroom lessons and 50% hands-on sessions. In each day the school will start with a one-hour keynote speech by an international expert in the topics related to the school. The Keynote will be followed by a one-hour tutorial that, in turn will be followed by the theoretical lessons. The hands-on sessions will take place in each afternoon. One hour of the last day will be dedicated to the final test. Lessons will take place from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a one-hour break.


Target participants 

The course is aimed at students from Italian and foreign universities enrolled in a PhD program in one of the following fields/sectors: Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science. In case of further vacancies, students who hold at least one of the following qualifications obtained no more than 6 months prior to the date of application can be admitted: Doctorate (Ph.D.), Master's degree, single-cycle Master's degree or Specialization degree, with an average grade of at least 27/30 (Italian system); qualification obtained abroad, recognized as equivalent to the above second-level academic qualifications, with a grade point average of at least 27/30 (Italian system) or equivalent grade in the international system; those enrolled in the final year of a Master's Degree, Single-Cycle Master's Degree or similar course abroad with a grade point average of at least 27/30 (Italian system) or equivalent grade in the international system.
