Kalewongel Minale Gedamu
Bio
Kalewongel Minale is a second year PhD student in the Politics, Human rights and Sustainability program with specialization under the Conflict and Political Systems in International Relations curriculum. Kalewongel received his Master's degree in Peace and Conflict Transformation at the University of Tromso, Norway. Currently on leave, he is affiliated to the Department of Civic and Ethical Studies, Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia. In his PhD project, Kalewongel explores the role of former liberation movements – movement governments – in state building with particular reference to newly born states in the horn of Africa–Somaliland, Eritrea and South Sudan. His other research interests include Ethio-Eritrean relations, interstate and intra state conflict in the horn of Africa, state formation and state building in the horn of Africa, identity and conflict, multiculturalism and the politics of difference.
