Period
19th - 23rd January 2026

Learning objectives
The Seasonal School equips students from diverse backgrounds with the critical skills to dissect the complexities of corporate sustainability communication and the risks of misleading environmental claims. The course takes a holistic and interdisciplinary approach, integrating managerial, legal, technical, and psychological perspectives to examine how businesses communicate their environmental commitments—and how their marketing can sometimes be deceptive. The program covers key topics such as environmental impact measurement, regulatory frameworks on green claims, corporate strategies for responsible communication, and consumer behavior in response to sustainability messaging. Through a mix of lectures, case studies, and interactive workshops, participants will critically analyze real-world examples of greenwashing, learning to distinguish between authentic sustainability efforts and eco-fraud. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the skills to bust greenwashing myths, hold businesses accountable, and contribute to a more transparent and ethical business environment.

Teaching methodologies
Students will be actively engaged in the learning process through a dynamic combination of theoretical insights and practical applications, guided by both academics and industry practitioners. The course employs an interactive and experiential approach, integrating lectures, case studies, role-playing, business simulations, and company visits to reinforce key concepts. Discussions and collaborative assignments will encourage critical thinking and active participation, while hands-on activities, such as a dedicated laboratory, will provide students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. Guest speakers from relevant industries will further enrich the learning experience by sharing practical insights and lessons learned, ensuring a strong connection between theory and practice..
