Chiara Galfano
Bio
Chiara Galfano is a PhD student at the Biorobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. She earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Università degli Studi di Palermo, where she graduated with the highest distinction of 110/110 cum Laude.
Her academic journey took a transformative turn during her participation in the Erasmus+ program at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. This experience enriched her understanding of biomedical engineering and deepened her appreciation for cultural exchange and international collaboration.
As she continues her research, Chiara is eager to apply her knowledge and experiences to advance the field of biorobotics.
Ricerca
Chiara Galfano is currently involved in two significant projects:
EU Project SWAG: In collaboration with the SMB (Soft Mechatronics for BioRobotics) Laboratory, Chiara focuses on the development of sensors for proprioception and exteroception in exoskeletons. For more information about this project, please refer to the provided link.
National Project FIT4MED: Working with the LAMPSe (Laboratory of Applied Materials for Printed and Soft Electronics), Chiara investigates materials for the creation of soft sensors, particularly those made with LIG (Laser-Induced Graphene).
