Bio

Tommaso Cucinotta got a MSc in Computer Engineering from University of Pisa, and a PhD in Computer Engineering from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (SSSA). From year 2005 to 2011 he has been a researcher at the Real-Time Systems Laboratory (ReTiS) of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, carrying out research on operating systems and adaptive processor scheduling for a wide range of real-time software systems, ranging from embedded platforms to cloud and distributed software. From year 2012 to June 2014 he has been a researcher at Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs in Dublin, Ireland, carrying out research in security and real-time performance of cloud-based systems. From July 2014 to December 2015, he has been Software Development Engineer at Amazon DataBase Services, Dublin, Ireland, where he worked on improving the real-time performance and scalability of the DynamoDB NoSQL real-time data-base. Since 2016, he is associate professor at the Real-Time Systems Laboratory (ReTiS) within the TECIP Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, teaching courses on cloud computing and big-data infrastructures, component-based software design and C/C++ programming.
