 Dear Colleague,

I’m happy to welcome you to the registration page for the 10th Workshop of the IOBC-WPRS Working Group on ‘Landscape Management for Functional Biodiversity’. We are busy in planning an exciting programme based on the numerous abstracts that have been submitted.
The meeting will bring together the latest advances in research, development, and application of landscape management for functional biodiversity, exchanging information, coordinating common research, and identifying areas for future research. There will be a focus on comparing approaches to the management and monitoring of biodiversity in perennial (orchards) and herbaceous (arable or vegetable) cropping systems. Two parallel field trips will be organised to allow you to visit either the olive groves on the Pisa Mountain or the experimental research farm for agro-environmental research of the University of Pisa which is situated near the seaside and surrounded by pine tree and mixed woodland. Biodiversity sampling methods will be demonstrated and discussed in relation to the local landscape context.
I look forward to welcoming you in Pisa!

On behalf of the Organising Committee,
Camilla Moonen

Meeting Location

The event will take place in the centre of Pisa, a small touristic town in the heart of Tuscany with about 90,000 inhabitants. There are 3 Universities: University of Pisa, Scuola Normale and Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna.
The meeting is hosted by the Group of Agroecology, Center of Plant Sciences of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in the historical headquarters in Piazza Martiri della Libertà 33, Pisa. Travel and Hotels in Pisa

Pisa has a small airport at only 1,5 km from the central train station, and it is connected to the city with the ‘people mover’.

From the central train station busses circulate frequently. Taxis are waiting outside the airport terminal and will bring you to the city centre in about 10 minutes (about € 10). If you prefer a walk, it will take you about 20-30 minutes to get right to the city centre from the airport.
