Access
Who:
Affiliated members. Admission to the Library is for students, professors, researchers, staff and alumni affiliated with the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. A Library card is issued for access to the Library and its services. Visiting students may apply for Library card upon presentation by a School member (professor or staff).
Non-affiliated members. Non-affiliated scholars may apply for legitimate purposes of study. Ask the librarians for terms and conditions.
How: Fill up the request form, posted here in the attachments box, and email or handle it to the Library.
Loan
What: Every book of the Library can be checked out; periodicals, dictionaries and the books with the red label on the spine can’t circulate.
Who: Affiliated members can borrow 10 sets of volumes at a time for 2 months; alumni can borrow 4 sets of volumes for 1 month; non-affiliated members can take out 2 sets of volumes at a time for 15 days.
How: Come to the Circulation Desk with the books to charge and your Library card, or use the self-check station (self-service borrowing machine). Loan or overdue notices are sent out as a courtesy to all borrowers. Loans can be renewed, see Renewals and requests. If items are not returned on time, the user’s borrowing privileges are blocked for the same amount of time as the overdue period.
Books must be returned directly to the Library Staff or, during the evening/weekend hours, they must be dropped in the box located at the Circulation Desk.
Rules of behaviour
Entering the Library you’re expected to assume standards of considerate and ethical behavior required in a public place of study.
Talking loudly, smoking, eating or drinking in the Library are prohibited, sealed bottles of water are admitted. Mobile phones must be turned off. Users must leave bags and backpacks in the lockers at the entrance.
Users must not damage in any way library materials or facilities; it’s strictly forbidden to enter the librarians’ offices when they are not in.
Lost or damaged materials will be charged to the user.
